Topic: Lessons from Transdisciplinary Commons Research: Communication and Partnerships for Impact

Abstract: Research on the commons exemplifies transdisciplinary work: integrating approaches from various disciplines for solving critical social and environmental problems. This presentation will draw from three decades of experience in commons research to identify lessons on how to bridge between research and practice. This includes the CGIAR system-wide program on Collective Action and Property Rights (CAPRi) efforts to synthesize research in an accessible manner, partnership with Foundation for Ecological Security and the Promise of Commons initiative in India, and adapting behavioral games from a research approach to an approach for community-level social learning about the commons.
