ALES is hosting a very special guest from Nigeria.

Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank and 2019 University of Alberta honorary degree recipient, will sit down with Dean Stan Blade for a public Q&A.

They will discuss food security, agricultural challenges and successes in Nigeria, renewable energy and Dr. Adesina’s wide range of experiences, including: as a principal economist and social science research co-ordinator for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nigeria; his work at WARDA, with the Rockefeller Foundation, as Nigeria’s minister of agriculture, and his current role with the African Development Bank.

Dr. Adesina is an engaging speaker with a lot of interesting and relevant things to say.
