Brent Swallow
Pathways of vulnerability and connection in food and agricultural economies
Brent Swallow is an agricultural economist with 30 years of experience working at the interface of agriculture and the environment. He spent 20 years living and working in Africa, and has supervised UofA graduate students in research in South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, India, Peru, Bangladesh and China. He teaches courses on food systems and the economics of world food and agriculture. In Alberta he conducts research on conversion of agricultural land and food deserts. He was a founding member of the Edmonton Food Council.
Bruno Wichmann
Linking epidemiology and economics
Bruno Wichmann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology at the University of Alberta. He received his PhD in Economics in 2012 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. His research interests are primarily in the fields of environmental economics, social and economic networks, and experimental economics.
