Abstract:
Vehicle electrification is a common approach to address climate change from the transportation sector. Success depends on consumer adoption, as well as supporting infrastructure and policy. This presentation will outline two research studies on this topic. The first study is a stated preference experiment in the US Midwest that explores how preferences vary by vehicle type. This study develops a novel two-stage post stratification and model estimation approach. The second study uses vehicle registration data to explore spatial and social drivers of alternative fuel vehicle diffusion.
